Sneads Ferry, NC: Ms. Martha Wallace Yates, age 74, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday evening at her home. A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Charlie Hughes and Andre Persun.
Ms. Yates was born August 24, 1942 in Johnston County to the late Willie R. and Ina Rose Wallace. She was preceded in death by her sister, Claire, brothers, Everette (Doc), Rufus, Gerald, Bobby, Jesse, Norman, Wray and Holton Wallace.
Ms. Yates was retired from Johnston County Community College as Human Resources Manager. She was an active member of Faith Covenant Church and loved her church family dearly.
Surviving include a daughter and son-in-law of Raleigh; son and son-in-law of Vass; a sister of Lillington, a sister of Benson and a sister of Franklin; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 12:30 PM - 1:45 PM prior to the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
Flowers are welcomed, however, memorials may be sent to Faith Covenant Church, 2449 NC-172, Sneads Ferry, NC 28460.
