Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Collier-Butler Chapel for James Frank Griffith, 84, of Hokes Bluff, who died Sunday, February 7, 1999. Burial will be in Hokes Bluff cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Mr. Griffith was a native of Etowah County and had retired from Republic Steel with 27 years of service. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Smith Griffith; brother, Henry Griffith, and sisters, Daisy Slay, Eddie C. Prickett and Laura Griffith.
He is survived by his sons, James (Lou Anne) Griffith, Hokes Bluff, Ronald (Sally) Griffith, Hokes Bluff, Pat (Sandra) Griffith, Hokes Bluff; grandchildren, Penny (Bobby) Pope, Steve (Jennifer) Griffith, Laura (Tres) Dotson, Cale Griffith, Greg Griffith, Matt Griffith and chosen grandson, Jon Edwards; great grandchildren, Cody Griffith, Jessica Pope, and Anna Pope; sisters, Margaret Mullins, Glencoe, Dovie (Russ) Becraft, Tampa, Fla. and Fannie (J.W.) Herring, Gadsden.
