He married Beulah Oehring on February 7, 1922, in Lamar. He married Eleanor Grillot on July 7, 1979, at St Mary's Catholic Church in Parsons. Survivors include his second wife, his children, Robert Evilsizer, Larry Evilsizer, Frances Walters, Mary Pearce, Evelyn Merchant, and Cynthia Bruemmer, 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Services were held at St Mary's Catholic Church. Burial was in Mount Olivette Roman Catholic Cemetery.
