Sophia Thacker Daniels

With a sad and lonely heart I will try to write the obituary of my dear mother. She was born April 21, 1887, and passed away from this life September 9, 1980, making her stay on earth 93 years, five months and 18 days.
Mother joined the Primitive Baptist Church June 27, 1946. She was in poor health much of the time, but went to church when she could.
She was the daughter of Greenville Thacker and Lydia Conway Thacker. A family of nine children, a sister to the late Elder Hibbard Thacker who was moderator of the Mates Creek Association for 31 years.
Her husband, George W. Daniels, preceded her in death February 2nd, 1947. To this union were born eight children of whom three preceded her in death. Laura died in infancy, B. Daniels passed away May 9, 1965, Mrs. Ora Morris October 23, 1966.
She is survived by five children: two sons, Kelly M. Daniels of Pikeville, Kentucky; Delano D. Daniels of Columbus, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Mae Goff of Pikeville, Kentucky; Mrs. Arlene Freeman of Indianapolis, Indiana; Mrs. Flora Goff of Raccoon, Kentucky.
She is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives.
Mother - we miss her so very much. We hope our loss is Heaven's gain. She believed in the Grace of God, that was her hope of living again.
Psalms 116:7 and 9: Return unto thy rest, O my soul, for the Lord hath dealt bountifully unto me.
I will walk before the Lord in the Land of the Living.
We believe this was her hope because of the life she tried to live.
Though she is gone from this life, but surely not forgotten.

Written by her daughter and grandson
In living hope of meeting again.
Mrs. Flora Goff and Elmer Goff
