Donald Robey, 1936-2004
Donald Robey, 67, of Columbia passed away Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at approximately 6:05 p.m. at Boone Hospital Center.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Chapel in Clarence, with the Rev. Jamie Frank officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia and from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Clarence. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Clarence.
Donald was born in Clarence, the son of Wayne Mayes and Vera Ruby Adams Robey. He graduated from Clarence High School in 1955 and was Christian by faith.
He was owner and operator of Columbia Mobile Home Sales until his retirement 15 years ago. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, going to the riverboat, spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks and ocean cruises.
He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his mother, Vera of Clarence; two sons, Joseph Robey and wife Stephanie of O'Fallon and David Robey of Chicago; two grandchildren, Jessica and Dylan Robey; longtime companion, Ann Castle of Columbia; and one sister, Patsy Starmer of Clarence.
Donald was proud of the fact he was expecting twin grandchildren to arrive in July.
He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Roxie Koftan.
Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Association.
