Roxie R. Koftan,57, of 2259 Shady Oaks Ct. NE, died Wednesday in St. Luke's Hospital from complications of diabetes. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery . Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home and after noon Saturday at the chapel. Survivors include her husband, Richard; two daughters, Susan Phelps of Toddville and Cynthia Koftan of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Vera Robey of Clarence, Mo.; a brother, Donald Robey of Columbia, Mo.; and a sister, Patsy Starmer of Clarence, Mo. Also surviving is a grandson. Roxie was born May 1, 1934, in Clarence, Mo., and married Richard J. Koftan there on Nov. 21, 1954. She was director of the American Diabetes Association, Iowa affiliate, for 15 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of T.T.T. Society and First Presbyterian Church and was a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital. The Rev. Robert David of First Presbyterian Church will officiate.
