Funeral services for Magdalena “Maggie” Baker – Jeske will be held at 1:30 on Friday December 30, 2016 at St John’s Lutheran Church in Wykoff, MN with Rev Michael Harman officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Thursday at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Wykoff (Formerly Thauwald Funeral Home) and will continue for 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Magdalena “Maggie” Jeske, age 100, formerly of Wykoff died Friday December 23, 2016 at Cottagewood in Rochester, MN.

Magdalena “Maggie” Mathilda Selma Meyer was born March 11, 1916 in Wykoff, MN to Otto and Amanda (Affeldt) Meyer.

She attended school through the 8th grade and was united in marriage to Ariel Baker on May 23, 1934 at St John’s Lutheran Church in Wykoff and together had 2 children; Ariel Jr. and Juanita. Her husband Ariel passed away on October 17, 1978.

She then married Raymond Jeske on February 14, 1985. Raymond passed away on January 30, 1990.

Maggie was a homemaker and worked at Waters-Conley. She was a member of Friends of Forestville, and the Wykoff Garden Club. In 1989 she was recognized as “Outstanding Senior Citizen” for Fillmore County. Maggie was also very involved in her church. She sang in the choir, and was a member of the ladies aid. She also served as the church janitor along with her husband Ariel for many years.

She is survived by her Brother Marvin “Buddy” Meyer of Spring Valley, a daughter-in-law Donna (Baker) Pivonka of Rochester, grandchildren; Dawn Crowson, Scott Baker and Shane Baker all of Rochester, Pam (Kevin) Parker of St. Paul, MN, Daniel (Deidra) Ladsten of Washington State, Debbie (David) Ehlenz of Buffalo, MN, Jeffery (Jackie) Ladsten of Rochester, MN, Jolene (Ed) Greenheck of Wabashaw, MN and Sheila Sanders of Mankato, MN, 26 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great- grandchildren, 4 step-children; Curtis (Sally) Jeske, Don Dickman Kimberly (Matt) Walfoort and Holly (Ryan) Staude, and 4 step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her children; Ariel Baker Jr. and Juanita Klessig, 3 grandchildren; Guy Baker, Michael Ladsten and Jeremiah Baker, step-child Onalee (Jeske) Dickman and 10 siblings; Walter Meyer, Ernest Meyer, Alfred Meyer, Paul Meyer, Martha Rollie, Irvin Meyer, Amanda Zwart, Otto Meyer, Edna Schultz and Edward Meyer.
