Marion L. Hatcher, 84, of Strum, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at Dove Healthcare Nursing & Rehabilitation in Eau Claire with her daughters at her side.

She was born on May 20, 1922, in Osseo, Wis., to Theodore and Helen (Treiber) Halverson. In 1939, she graduated from Mondovi High School. On January 20, 1946, she married Robert Hatcher and spent most of her life in Strum. Marion was a child of God and devoted to her family.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Strum, Wis.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Hatcher, of Strum; four daughters, Gail (Mark) Perry of Baldwin, Wis., Gwen (William) Mensen of St. Paul, Minn., Colleen (David) Berge of Strum, and Karla (James) Vriezen of Janesville, Wis.; eight grandchildren, Bethany (Ronald) Heutmaker, Mark (Andria) Perry III, James Mensen, Eric Mensen (fiancee, Amanda Platt), Jon Berge (girlfriend, Denise Klubertanz), Michael (Emily) Berge, Laura Berge and Robert Vriezen; three great-grandchildren, Hailey Mensen, Oliver Berge and Baby Heutmaker who is waiting to come home from China; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Helen (Treiber) Halverson; and a brother, Harold Halverson.

Services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Strum, Wis., with the Rev. Christine Emerson officiating. Burial will be at the West Beef River Cemetery.

Friends may call on Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Chapel in Strum and for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
