Peggy and her family first moved to Clay County in 1950 to farm in the Patterson Community.
It was there she met and married Robert (Bob) Ingram in 1953. They began their life together farming. Later, she would become the office manager for Mitchell Funeral Home, owner of Bob and Peg's Antiques, owner of Rector Florist, and a Social Worker at the Paragould Nursing Center. She was active with the Democratic Party and held the distinction of being the first woman elected to serve on the Rector City Council where she served two terms.
Peggy loved helping others, traveling, collecting antiques, working with her flowers, and forever showering her children and grandchildren with love. Born to humble surroundings, Peggy was raised in a family generous with love, support and a zest for living life to its fullest. She passes having instilled those values in three generations of descendants.
She attended the First General Baptist Church of Rector, was a former president of the Clay County Democratic Women and former president of the Rector Women's Club. Until her illness, Peggy was a volunteer ombudsman, regularly volunteered at the Rector Museum, and was active with the Senior Bees.
She was preceded in death by her father Wesley, mother Bertha, husband of 49 years Robert, brothers, Larry and Richard, and a great grandchild, Wesley Adam Mills, Jr.
She is survived by her sisters Melba Ingram and Diana Brewer, both of Rector, her daughter, Vickie Ramsey and husband Ron of Van Buren, AR, her son Tim and wife Rhonda of Mandeville, LA, five grandchildren, Ashley Macke and husband Jonnie of Dallas, TX, Wesley Mills and wife Jenny of Atlanta, TX, Erica Mills of Van Buren, AR, and Katie and Nick Ingram of Mandeville, LA.
