Charlie Clifford Ward, age 91, of Magazine passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at his home Sunday, December 18, 2016.

He was born November 23, 1925, in Walnut Grove to the late Joe Jackson & Mary “Lizzie” Oliver Ward. He was a decorated WWII and Korea Army Veteran and a retired carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings & spouses, Vester & Willie Ward; Ted & Inez Ward; Retha & Bob Inman; Katherine & Marvin Bartholow; grandson, Samuel “Bert” Gilbert.

Survivors include his bride of 72 years, Chloe Shott Ward; daughters and sons-in-law, Judi & Randy Daily of Greenwood; Cathi & Patrick Miller of Rockwall, Texas; Geauchita “Keta” & Bob Cathcart of Pine Bluff; grandchildren, Lisa & Mark Krieger of Knox, PA; Wade Smith of New Boston, TX; Amy & Shawn Askins of Magazine; Leanne & David Roberts of Tulsa, OK; Randy Lara-Daily of [New] Braunsfels, TX; Jodie Thomas of Whitehall; Chris & Lorna Miller of Camden; Amber Miller of Conway; 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great- grandchildren; several nephews, nieces and many many friends.

Funeral service will be 2 pm Thursday, December 23, 2016, at the Havana First Baptist Church with Bro. Charlie Bird officiating. Burial will be at Moore’s Chapel Cemetery in Waveland with Military Honors. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Randy Barrick, Zach Krieger, Doug Shott, Rocky Smith, Mike Smith, Shawna Askins, Marcus Jones and Tim Warren.
