She was a passenger with her boyfriend Kevin Michael Squires who also died.

Kelsey was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts on January 12, 1988, the daughter of Ronald and Suzanne (Parent) Wells.

For 14 years she resided with her parents in Hinsdale before moving to Brattleboro. She attended Hinsdale Elementary School for four years then Saint Michael's School through eighth grade. She was a graduate of Brattleboro Union High School, Class of 2006.

Currently, she was a student at Greenfield Community College, enrolled in their Paramedic Program. Kelsey was also a student in the first responder's course through Rescue Inc. Her future career goal was to become a Nationally Certified Paramedic. Her first certification was her Red Cross certificate for baby sitting. It was believed this was the beginning of her decision to choose a career helping people.

In conjunction with her emergency medical courses she had been employed at Olympia Sports in Brattleboro and was a certified lifeguard and swim instructor for the Town of Brattleboro Recreation Department.

She was an accomplished figure skater and trained at the International Skating Rink in Simsbury, Connecticut for four seasons. Kelsey was a member of the USFSA, BFSA, and GFSA. She had also been an active member of the Brattleboro Swim Team.

She will be remembered for her spunky, energetic and caring personality. Additionally, she was known as a hard worker who was very goal oriented. Kelsey also had a wonderful sense of humor.

Of her pastimes and interests, she enjoyed watching movies, playing mini golf with Kev, snow skiing, basketball, ice hockey, softball, dancing and motorcycling, just recently receiving her Vermont motorcycle license. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, swimming and water skiing.

Besides her parents of Brattleboro, she leaves; one brother, Kyle Wells and his fiancée Laurie Morrison both of Hinsdale, maternal grandparents, Ernest and Beverly Parent of Brattleboro, paternal grandmother, Elizabeth June Wells, of Brattleboro and several aunts and uncles that include; Joseph & Cheryl Parent, Timothy & Mary Grover, David Parent, Shawn parent, and Robert & Jean Wells, all of Brattleboro, and Roxanne & William Zimmerman of Leyden, MA and Michael & Rhonda Class of Vernon.
