Think Corbett Girl Seen at Northampton

(By Associated Press)
Northampton, Nov. 21 - Convinced from the story of the foreman of a gang of telephone linemen late yesterday that Miss Alice M. Corbett of Utica, missing Smith college student, is in the vicinity of Whiting's Peak, near here, State Detective Joseph V. Daly and other police officials left here this morning with bloodhounds in a renewed search for the missing girl. The foreman of the gang of linemen shown a photograph of the girl was able to identify it as the girl who visited the linemen's noonday camp yesterday, demanded food at the point of a revolver and after eating ravenously disappeared in the woods nearby. Another man, not a member of of [sic] the linemen's gang, reported to Detective Daly that a short time after, the girl had visited the camp and about a mile from the camp she accosted him and brandishing a revolver, ordered him to get out of the vicinity. The man's description tallies with that of the girl who visited the camp.
