Charles Elden Ritter and wife, Rose Luetta (Doran) Ritter welcomed a baby daughter, in Williamstown Missouri, 3 June 1935. They named her Rose.

Rose Ritter went to Keokuk high school. She worked in Independence Missouri as a salesperson. She eventually moved to Hannibal Missouri.

Rose (Ritter) Horton led a faith-filled life. She dedicated herself to her Christian faith at age fourteen, at Cedar Grove Baptist church, Clark county Missouri. Once residing in Hannibal, Mrs. Horton was an active member at Calvary Baptist church, its Sunday school class and "Forever Young."

Mrs. Horton also gave to her community. She volunteered at Douglas Community Center.

Her pastimes included sewing for family and friends, being among her flowers and exercising with water aerobics at the local YMCA.

Rose (Ritter) Horton valued highly her time spent with family and her friends.

She passed away 6 July 2016 at Lewis county Nursing Home in Canton, Lewis county, Missouri. She was 81.

Her parents and two sisters preceded her in death.

Interment took place at Greenmount cemetery, Quincy Illinois.
