Tony G. 'Red' Ramsey, 78, of Mountain Home, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007 at a local care center. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007 at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home. Burial will be held at the Bruneau Cemetery in Bruneau. Tony was born on Nov. 1, 1928 in Bruneau, Idaho, he was one of nine children born to Matt and Lottie Ramsey. Tony grew up on a ranch in Bruneau, and bought his first cattle truck as a teenager and started a life-long career hauling for all the local ranchers. Tony spent two years in the Army, then returned to Mountain Home. Tony married Arlene Eichholz on June 12, 1971 in Elko, Nev.and immediately became a father to LeeAnne, Shirley, Joe and Toni. In 1972, his daughter Jimmie Lee was born. Tony was a wonderful father and husband, but his world became even brighter when his two grandchildren Mattie and Jace were born and then he became Poppy. Tony is survived by his wife Arlene, his daughter Jimmie and her husband Aron Bennett and his daughter Leanne Kearby, all of Mountain Home, his daughter Toni and her husband Randy Sevy of Boise, his daughter Shirley and her husband Keith Prickett of Nampa, his son Joe and his wife Sandy Carrico of Indiana, five sisters, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Tony´s honor to one of the following; The Bruneau Cemetery, P.O. Box 152, Bruneau, Id 83604, The Bruneau American Legion, C/O Bill McBride, 29776 Davis Rd., Bruneau, Id 83604, or The Bruneau Booster Club C/O Judy McBride, 29776 Davis Rd., Bruneau, Id 83604. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
