SHAW - Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Salley Bishop, 73, of Shae and Drew, were conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Church, near Drew, by the Rev. Frank Childress. Burial was in Drew Cemetery with Thweatt Funeral Home of Cleveland in charge.
Mrs. Bishop died at 7:30 a.m. Friday at the North Sunflower Hospital in Ruleville where she had been a patient since Tuesday.
She was born in Webster County, near Eupora and had been living in Shaw since January with her son, Frank Salley.
HER FIRST husband, Elijah Salley, of Drew, died in 1939. She married John (Bud) Bishop in 1960.
She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bishop leaves four sons, Frank Salley of Shaw, Oscar Salley of Clarksdale, Robert Salley of Durant and Clyde Salley of Meridian; six daughters, Mrs. Clara Giroir and Mrs. Elizabeth Barth, both of New Orleans; Mrs. W. D. Ellenberg (Sic Ellingburg) and Mrs. A. E. Gookin, both of Jackson; Mrs. J.D. Campbell of Vicksburg and Mrs. Norman Ray of Columbia, S.C. Also surviving two sisters, Mrs. Maude Boatman of Eupora and Mrs. Sam Myers of Roseland, La.
She also leaves 35 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
