Obituary in The Shreveport (LA) Times December 11, 2016:

A Memorial Service honoring the life of A. F. "Budd" Adams will be celebrated at St. Mark's Cathedral on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. This will be followed immediately by a gathering with the family in the church parlor.

Budd was born March 6, 1928, in Port Chester, New York and passed away peacefully in his home at Lake Bistineau on December 9, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Budd proudly served his country from 1948 - 1953 as a pilot in the U. S. Navy. He was most proud of the fact that he had landed on an aircraft carrier and loved to share this story with all. While stationed in Rhode Island he met and subsequently married Edith "Pede" Gardiner on July 6, 1951. After his medical discharge, he completed his BS in Engineering from the University of Buffalo followed by his MBA from UB in 1960. After working as an assembly line foreman and industrial engineer for Sylvania Electric Products he enjoyed a stint as a professor at Erie County Technical Institute. Budd's career with Western Electric/AT&T began in Buffalo in 1962 and brought him and his young family to Shreveport in 1965. He enjoyed various shop and engineering positions through third level supervisor and retired November 1, 1985.

Budd was a devout member of St. Mark's Cathedral where he had served as a Sunday School Superintendent and enjoyed attending the early service until his health limited his abilities. While still in New York he had also served as a warden at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Eggertsville, N.Y. Budd was active in and held office as President in many professional engineering societies in addition to serving as the President of Shreveport Works Council, Telephone Pioneers. Being an Eagle Scout himself, Budd enjoyed volunteering for many years with St. Mark's Troop 6. His love of flying included serving as Commander of the Shreveport Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol and the Deputy Wing Commander of the Louisiana Civil Air Patrol. Flying wasn't his only passion as he enjoyed many years as a member of the Shreveport Power (Boating) Squadron where he served as Commander. Budd and Pede also enjoyed many happy years traveling all over the country in their motor home.

Budd Adams is survived by Pede, his wife of 65 years; his daughter Susan Falbaum and her husband Rand of Elm Grove, LA; his son Glenn of Shreveport, LA; and his son Peter and his wife Liz of Frisco, TX. He is also survived by his granddaughter Erin Falbaum Hinek and her husband Frank of Decatur, GA; his granddaughter Elise Simpson and her husband of Frisco, TX; and his grandson Evan Falbaum and his wife Erica of Elm Grove, LA. Budd also has a great-granddaughter, Leesie Simpson; and a great-grandson, Owen Hinek. Budd was preceded in death by his parents Charles Eldrich Adams and Katherine Gasparini Adams, his brother Charles E Adams, Jr. and his wife Jeannie and his sister Charlotte.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Holy Angels Residential Facility in Shreveport.
