Harvey Holcomb Chapman, Jr., 85, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, May 12, 2005 after a short illness. Born on October 5, 1919 in Greensboro, GA, he was the son of the late Harvey, Sr. and Oline Sanders Chapman. He was a retired CPA and served during WWII in the U. S. Army. Mr. Chapman was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors are a son, Mike Chapman of Bainbridge; sister, Ann Sheppard of Greensboro; daughter-in-law, Louise Chapman of Port Orange, FL; grandson and granddaughter, Alex Chapman and Stephanie Chapman both of Port Orange, FL; nephews and their wives, Bob and Colleen Sheppard of Alexandria, VA, Bill and Mellen Sheppard of Boston, MA, and Chip Reif of Orlando, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, son, Robert, sister, Oline and brothers-in-law, Charles Reif and William Sheppard.

Funeral services will be held at the graveside on Sunday, May 15, 2005 at 3 p.m. in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Reverend Mac Weaver will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
