Randy Harvey age 58 of Sioux Falls, passed away suddenly of natural causes, Thursday December 1, 2016. Family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Monday December 5, at Miller Funeral Home 507 S. Main Avenue. Funeral services begin at 1:30 pm Tuesday at First United Methodist Church.

Randy Harvey, son of Dr. Richard Harvey and Karin Harvey, was born on July 20th, 1958 in Worms, Germany. Richard moved his family back to Sioux Falls when Randy was two, where Randy went on to build his life .Randy met Janine Colby on October 7th, 1978. It was love at first sight. The two were married at First United Methodist Church on May 30th, 1981.

He spent three years studying at USD and then, to be closer to Janine, completed his BS in Business Administration at Augustana in Sioux Falls. Randy's entire working career was in the printing industry, having worked for Artisan Press for over twenty years at the time of his death. He was dedicated and hardworking, and built a successful sales business and valued friendships with clients. His work ethic, both on the job and off, was an intentional model for his children, teaching them how to be confident, independent and kind.

There was no end to his many ambitious projects. When the kids began to leave the nest, he relished the opportunity to help each of them in their homes and lives. He was "The Guy", usually in the neon shirt. (it's a family thing…)

He treasured the countless hours he spent coaching, constructing, traveling and building a strong family with Janine. The qualities Randy possessed were passed onto his children and he was so proud to see them succeed and love one another. The time they spent together will live on as irreplaceable memories with his family and friends.

For those who knew Randy, his pride and joy was his family. His greatest victory was being an amazing husband and father to their four children and the perfect papa to their five, soon to be six., we loved him and we still love him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Richard W. Harvey, Brother-in-law and best friend, Jeff Colby and a few beloved dogs.
