Born in Fall River, MA he was a son of the late Daniel and Cecelia (Driscoll) Shea.
He graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1953. He served honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was born with a pair of "Golden Hands" and had amazing carpentry skills. He was an avid reader and in his spare time he enjoyed art and opera music.
He is survived by five children, Timothy C. Shea of Burke, VA, Donna J., Buckley of South Kingstown, Daniel M. Shea of South Kingstown, Julie A Ladd of Wakefield, and Jeffry Shea of North Kingstown; fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial with military honors follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale.
