Friends may call after 5:30 p.m. today and until 11 a.m. Thursday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Steeleville, and until time of services at the church.

Mr. Byrd died Tuesday, June 4, 1985, in Memorial Hospital in Chester. He was a retired foreman for Arch Mineral Corp. in Percy. He was a veteran of .World War II and a member of the First Baptist Church. He was born Oct. 2, 1921, in Perry County, to George W. and Nettie Pearl Wilson Byrd. He married Elizabeth Schmidt Nov. 9, 1946.
