In 1971 he became employed as a budget analyst for the Internal Revenue Service in Washington. Larry retired from IRS in January of 1983. At the time of his retirement he had been certified as a Disaster Recovery Planner. Larry received his Masters Degree in Public Administration from George Washington University.
Larry and his wife Elaine moved to Lake of the Woods in June 1998. He was a former officer of NARFE, active in the Knights of Columbus, served as a Board Director of KOVAR, which serves the intellectually disabled. He also served as a member and Chairman of the LOWA elections committee and was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Larry was very active with and a supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, since 1970.
Survivors include his wife; Elaine, three sons: Ken (Kim), Dennis, and Ben (Michelle); daughter; Jennifer; Sister Nancy Kuhns (David); six grandchildren Kory (Kimberly), Kyle, Kris, Kirstie, Margaret, Andy; and two great grandchildren; Kai and Kameron.
Visitation will be held at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania, on Sunday July 24, 2016 from 2 pm to 4 pm, with Rosary held at 3:30 pm followed by Honors of the Knights of Columbus. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday July 25, 2016 at 10 am at St Patrick Catholic Church, Fredericksburg with Father Jerry Wooten officiating. Graveside services will be held in National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to KOVAR 16933 Four Seasons Dr. Dumfries, VA 22025-3619
