Obituary for Rolene Guild:
Rolene Viola Guild passed away on Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, California. She was 89. Rolene was born in Ogden, Utah on July 29, 1921 the daughter of Earl and Stella (Gledhill) Pitt. She attended Ogden public schools, and Weber State and Utah State University. She married Tom Guild and they first came to Mason Valley in 1946. Here they raised their two children, Monica and Marlin. Rolene worked for 38 years in the Postal Service and was Postmaster of the Yerington Post Office. Rolene enjoyed her involvement in several groups in the community. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi for more than 60 years. She was a member of the Red Hats and enjoyed attending their get togethers. Rolene was a state and national officer in the National Association of U.S. Postmasters (NAPUS), annually attending state and national meetings around the US and in Washington, DC. Rolene enjoyed many hobbies, loved gardening and working in the yard. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting family members around the country. She was an avid reader and always looked forward to reading new books. She delighted in telling stories from her early days in Yerington and always had a cheerful outlook and brightened everyone's day just by talking with her. She will be dearly missed. Rolene is survived by her daughter, Monica and her husband, John Berhman of Escondido, California; her grandchildren, Patrick and his wife Felicia Berhman of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Erin Berhman of Kailua, Hawaii, Stephen Guild of Woodbridge, Virginia and Adam Guild serving in the U.S. Army in Afghanistan; her great granddaughter, Beatriz of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her nieces and nephews, Gloria Miller of Reno, Patty Bussio and Jack Perry both of Elko, Katherine, Gordon Pitt and Jody Pitt all of Utah, Diane Guild of Washington, Ruth Guild and Bill Guild both of Pennsylvania. Rolene's funeral service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 600 North Oregon Street, Yerington. There will be a viewing time at the church from 9:30 until service time. Burial will be in the family plot at the Valley View Cemetery.
