Mr. Jerry Wayne Lawhorn of Chancellor, AL went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 30, 2016. He was 78.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016 at El Bethel Baptist Church (Chancellor, AL) with Rev. Don Tew and Rev. Dave Hingson officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.

The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until service time.

Mr. Lawhorn was born in Geneva County, AL. on March 14, 1938 to the late John Morgan Lawhorn and Annie Merle Vaughn Lawhorn German.

Mr. Lawhorn was well known for his love of fishing, especially those times he spent fishing with his grandmother, Mrs. Cora D. Vaughn.

Jerry was an avid hunter and enjoyed riding horses. He loved spending time with his family who he dearly cherished.

El Bethel Baptist Church was blessed to have had him as a faithful member.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Christian Thomas Cannon; three brothers, John, Oscar, and Joe Lawhorn; three sisters, Joyce Bloodworth, Sandra Lolley, and Geraldine Johns.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Judy Lawhorn of Chancellor, AL; two sons, Johnny Cannon of Daleville, AL, and Mark Cannon of Dothan, AL; one daughter, Julianna Cannon of Enterprise, AL; two granddaughters, Haley Lynn Cannon of Seattle, WA, and Jeridyn Quinn Cannon of Daleville, AL; one brother, Mickey German (Maryann) of Chancellor, AL; one sister, Brenda Simpson (John) of Hilton Head, SC; and a number of special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
