James C. "Jim" "Dedaddy" Bouldin, 91 of Lott and a longtime former resident of Austin passed away peacefully Friday, December 9, 2016. He was born April 9, 1925 in Pendleton, Texas and a graduate of Troy High School. He was a WWII veteran and was discharged in 1946. He went on to attend and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. He was a lifetime member of the Texas Exes as well as a member of the "early birds" exercise group that met at Gregory gym. He was an avidly proud longhorn fan and enjoyed watching UT sports. After graduating from UT he was hired at the Railroad Commission where he was the director of the production and allocation of the oil and gas division. He retired at the age of 62 after 35 years of service. He was a longtime member of the Tarrytown Baptist Church in Austin where he served many years as the chairman of the Deacons. He was a current member of the Salado Baptist Church in Salado, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents John Forrest Bouldin and Montez Miller, his first wife of 55 years, Elva "Pug" Bouldin and his second wife of 10 years, Doris Jinkins Bouldin and brother, John Bouldin. He is survived by his daughter, Jamijon Nielsen and her husband Lonnie. His son Forrest "Bo" Bouldin and his wife, Kathleen. Grandchildren, Joshua, Lauren, Jenna and Natalie and great grandson, Hudson. Sister, Sarah Cockrill and husband Bill. Brother, Mead Miller and wife Sue. He was a faithful devoted Christian man who dearly loved his family and so proudly spoke of all his grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday December 13, 2016 at Cook Walden Funeral Home 6100 N. Lamar Blvd. Austin, TX. from 11:00-1:00 with Graveside service to follow at 3:00 at Hillcrest Cemetery 1873 North 1st St., Temple, TX.
