Celebration of Life services for Mr. Willie B. Farris, 80, will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 15, 2010 in the Centuries Memorial Chapel with Bro. Rex Blankenship and Bro. Bo Roberts of Springs of Grace Baptist Church, Shreveport, Louisiana officiating. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, Louisiana.

Mr. Willie B. Farris was born February 8, 1930 in Detroit, Texas and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ July 12, 2010 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mr. Farris was a faithful member of Springs of Grace Baptist Church, Shreveport, Louisiana for ten years. He served in the U.S. ARMY as a tank commander in the Korean War for thirteen months. Mr. Farris was a Mason with Masonic Lodge # 1348, (Richmond Hills Lodge) Fort Worth, Texas. He retired from T.E. Mercer Trucking Co., Shreveport, Louisiana as a Superintendant following many years of dedicated service. Mr. Farris will be remembered as a loving husband, dedicated father, doting grandfather, caring sibling, and cherished friend by those who knew him best.

Mr. Farris is preceded in death by his father; Henry Farris, mother; Belle Poe, step-father; Bill Poe, and one brother; Donald Farris. Left to cherish his memories and tell his stories will be his beloved wife of fifty-nine years; Mrs. Bobbie Jean Morgan Farris, two sons: Gene and Don Farris, two brothers: Junior Farris and wife Frances, and Hommer Farris and wife Juanita, two grandchildren: Chelsea and Tyler Farris along with numerous extended family members and many great friends.

Honoring Mr. Farris as pallbearers will be Bo Roberts, Mike McGuirt, Robert Pirtle, Donald Henry, Tim Horn, and Steve Stephens. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Springs of Grace Baptist Church.
