"Fairfield Ledger" Obit. DEATH OF A GOOD MAN. Thomas Pollock, a resident of Des Mones twp since 1857 died at his home Monday. He was a native of Virginia and was in the 87th year of age. He removed to Pittsburgh,PA when young man and was married there in the late 1830s to Miss Jane Allen who survives. The family came to Jeff. Co. in 1856. The following spring Mr. Pollock purchased the farm in Des Moines twp where he died and where the rest of his life was spent. Six children survive: George A., John T., Mrs. D. W. Carter(Margaret Jane) in this county, Mrs C. T. Cowan(Anna Eliza) in Washington State, Mrs. George Huffman(Mary Elvina) and Mrs. Eugene Fordyce(Rena) at Ventura Cal. Services at the Presbyterian Church.Thomas Pollock died July 8th aged 87y 7m 5d. Born near West Alexander, PA. Married Feb 8, 1838. Seven children. Six living."
