OBITUARIES
Nellie Ness
Funeral services for Nellie Ida Ness were conducted Saturday afternoon from the Waggner & Campbell chapel with the Rev. Leslie Conklin of the Evergreen Alliance Church, officiating. Crescent Rebekah Lodge conducted ritualistic services at the chapel. Interment followed in the Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
Nellie Ida Ness was born at Bird Island, Minn., Nov. 2, 1887. She spent her youth in Minnesota and on Nov. 2, 1907 was married to Edward T. Ness in Wauchope, Sask., Canada. Later the family moved to Baker, Mont., where they engaged in farming from 1909 until 1916 when they moved to Hot Springs and a year later in 1917 came to Kalispell where Mrs. Ness had made her home since.
Mrs. Ness was a long time and active member of Rebekah Crescent Lodge No. 10.
Surviving her are her husband, Edward T. Ness, at the family home on the LaSalle Road; seven children, Mrs. Ernest Freebury of Kalispell, Mrs. Roger Michels of Libby, Clarence Ness of Forrest Hill, Calif., Ervin Ness of Santa Clara, Calif., Gerald Ness of Kalispell, Fred Ness of Billings, and Lindy of Miles City; 17 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ness died at her home near Kalispell Aug. 8 at the age of 73 years.
