August 6, 1925 - December 25, 2006

Norma LeCocq was born in Wall, SD, and was the 10th of 11 children in her family.

She married Robert Asheim on April 30, 1944. They resided in Rapid City, SD, and raised five children there.

Norma was very involved with her children's activities, church and community organizations, often serving in leadership roles.

After their retirement from Robert's career at Black Hills Power and Light, they lived in Saudi Arabia for two years where Robert worked as a consultant for electric power development. While there, Norma was "Grandmother" to residents in their apartment complex, doing baking and caring for children. Upon their return to the U.S., they moved to Boulder, CO, and later to Lakewood. After Robert's death in 2003, Norma moved to Evergreen, CO.

Norma was a kind, generous and caring woman who loved people and nurtured enduring friendships. She was a person of great hospitality and quiet grace who enjoyed having her large family and circle of friends around her. Her radiant smile warmed the hearts of everyone who met her.

She will be deeply missed by her five children: Jerry Asheim (Charles), Peggy Fetchenhier (Dale), Steve Asheim (Marsha), Marla Asheim and Sheila Tripp (Randy); nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and extended family. She is also survived by in-laws, Walt and Enid Asheim of Keystone, SD, Boyce and Vena Asheim of Rapid City, Dwain and Irene Asheim of Sturgis; and a niece, Marilyn Gibson (Fred), of Kenmore, WA.

A memorial service was held Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006. Memorial gifts will be to Evergreen Lutheran Church, Mt. Evans Hospital and Greyhound Adoption. Arrangements were by Evergreen Mortuary in Evergreen, CO.
