Larry Lee Forrester, 72, of Bloomington, Ind., and Englewood, Fla., passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016. He was born Aug. 7, 1944, in Bluffton, to Russell and Frances Forrester. Larry was a 1967 graduate of Purdue University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969, with one tour in Vietnam. Larry devoted his entire working career to the insurance industry. He worked at the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) from 1970 to 2004, and served as the president from 1988 until his retirement. After retirement, he served on several boards including Motorist Mutual Insurance Company, GNY Insurance Companies and Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana. Larry loved spending time with family and friends. He was an avid Purdue fan and enjoyed being outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Terry Forrester. A private celebration of life service will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana (bigsindiana.org).
