ROCK FALLS – Stephen D. Pierce, 69 died Monday December 5, 2016 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

He was born on December 9, 1946 in Sterling, the son of Donald Leroy and Virginia Mae (Hancock) Pierce. He was employed at the former Lawrence Brothers in Sterling and later worked as a control room operator in the jail at the Whiteside County Sheriff Department in Morrison for 19 years.

Surviving are his sisters: Sally Knapp of Rock Falls and Christy (Mike) Keefer of Sterling; his brother Tom (Debbie) Pierce of Rock Falls and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Dawn Michele Pierce and his nephew Marc Stindt.

Visitation will be held on Friday December 9, 2016 from 10 – 11 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Avenue in Rock Falls. The funeral will follow at 11 AM with the Reverend Richard Russo, pastor of St. Andrew Catholic Church officiating. Burial will conclude at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling.
