Reeves, Doris (nee: Andrews), born January 27, 1926, peacefully went to Heaven on Saturday, December 3, 2016. Dear wife of the late Wesley Reeves, Jr. Devoted mother to Margaret Lewis, Linda (John) Ryan, Nancy Mesey, Donna (Dave) Studt, Robert (Donna) Reeves and Kay Reeves. Loving grandmother to Chad (Dana) Lewis and Kim (Brian) Seemes, Jessica (Jeff) Melching, Jeanna (Brian) Graves, Gunnery Sgt. Jeff Kimball, Beth Ryan, Katie Ryan, Emily Ryan, Matthew Mesey, Teresa (Rob Frochlich II) Watson, Joseph Mesey, Kelly (Tim) McNamee, Gregory (Erin) Studt, Jacob Studt, Ben (Rachel) Reeves, Luke Reeves, Zac Reeves, Kristy Underwood and the late Kyle Harley. Dearest great-grandmother of 20. Doris was a devoted Catholic and had a holy union with the Blessed Mother. She prayed her rosary every day. I'm sure that's what kept her sane while raising six kids. She was kind hearted and generous and dedicated her life to her family. She was a sister to her brothers and as her brother Gene said, she "held the family together when her parents passed." She loved all her nieces and nephews and cousins. Her Murray cousins, Gloria and Betty, Pat and Delores, were like sisters to her and Marvin like a brother. Their children were like nieces and nephews. Mother's Day was for the family picnic. IF you missed it you better have had a good reason like being in the hospital. She loved talking to everyone. If a child in the neighborhood fell off a bike or hurt themselves in some way and their parents weren't home they came to Mrs. Reeves. She would fix them up. And if you had a cold she was known to give out cough medicine too. She had many friends, Viola Pillman is one of her oldest.Vi said "Who's going to call me when someone dies now?" She had a lot of friends at her apartment. We gave away several of her things there. One lady said, "Oh this is such a beautiful sweater but I'd rather have your mom." She will be missed by many. She loved and was loved by many and prayed for everyone. Heavenly Journey Mom. Services. Funeral Mass Wednesday, December 7, 10am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 615 Dunn Road. Interment Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Grace Convent (Pink Sisters), 1438 East Warne Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri 63107. VISITATION TUES, 4-8PM at BUCHHOLZ Valley of Flowers Mortuary, 619 Rue St. Francois, Florissant, MO 63031.
