Lafayette was the s/o Littleberry Epp(e)s & Ann Rebecca (Morrison) Mason who donated land in 1861 for the establishment of Mt Hebron Cemetery near Cave Springs, Benton County, Arkansas. Lafayette was a Methodist Circuit Rider on the War Eagle Circuit and great grand son of John Mason, founder of the first Methodist Church in America in Virginia. Lafayette's wife was Sarah Margaret Littrel. Their children were; Ruhama Ann, James Epps, Mary Elizabeth, Charlotte Virginia, Thomas Calvin, Martha Ellen, Sarah Jane, Luther Lafayette, Benjamin Wiley and Dewitt Talmag.
