Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin celebrating the life of Rev. Robert R. Liner Sr., a native of Morgan City and a 30 year resident of Centerville who passed away at the age of 59 on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia.
Following the services he will be laid to rest in the Presbyterian Cemetery in Centerville. Bro. Chris Hebert will conduct the services.
Serving as pallbearers Jason Guthrie, Shane Theriot Sr., Jason Ray Guthrie, Johnnie Lacoste III, Dylan Allen, Trevor Endres, and Bradley Pellerin III.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at Ibert's from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.
Robert was a man of God and loved the Lord with his whole heart. His greatest joy in life was preaching the word of God and leading others to the Lord. He was blessed to be the Pastor of Beam of Light Church for the past 15 years. A people person through and through, Robert never met a stranger and could always be found with a smile on his face no matter what. He loved growing his vegetable garden and giving away the fruit of his labor. Some other favorite pastimes included fishing, hunting, and cooking. His passion in life though was his family, whom he loved unconditionally and enjoyed fellow
shipping with. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 41 years, Toni Endres Liner; two children, Heidi Pellerin and her husband Bradley, and Robert Liner Jr. and his wife Jennifer; six grandchildren, Dylan, Jasmine, Chanley, Alyse, Jaeley, and Bradley; ten siblings, Judy L. Theriot, Raymond C. Liner Jr. and his wife Charmaine, June L. Guthrie and her husband Johnnie, Trudy Liner, Johanna L. Case and her husband Brad, Darlene L. Zenon and her husband Loveless, Paul Liner, Myrna L. LaCoste and her husband John, Rebecca L. Daniels and her husband Craig, and Brent Liner; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond C. Liner Sr. and Myrna Hotard Liner; one brother, John Liner; three nephews, Raymond Liner III, Donival Theriot Jr., and Eric Allen; and one niece, Tabatha King.
