Jemima was born December 18 1823 in Rutherford County to Spencer and Sarah Stockton Prewit.Jemima married John Webster Bumgardner on August 15 1838 in Rutherford County,she was 14 years old and John was 21 years old.John was a farmer.Together they had twelve children.They had been married fifty one years when John died in 1890 at the age of 73 years 2 days.Jemima died October 7 1899 at the age of 75 years 9 months 19 days.
