Clara married Daniel CHILDS on October 21,1867, in Vermilion Co., Illinois. Her son Frank was born in 1868, in Michigan. In 1870 and 1880, she, her husband, and their son were living in Hillsdale, Michigan, with her husband's parents. In 1881, her daughter Louise was born. By 1895, the family had moved to Washington, D.C.. In 1900, Clara, her husband, and their two adult children were living in Washington, D.C., at 1477 Kennesaw Ave. Clara's husband worked as a dry goods merchant; their son Frank worked as a carpet merchant. Clara's husband died in 1904. In 1910, Clara was living in Buffalo, New York, with her daughter Louise and Louise's son Daniel; Louise was divorced, and the three were living in a boarding house. Clara reported two births and one living child; that indicates that Clara's son Frank had died by 1910. In 1920, Clara was living in Washington, D.C., at 223 Indiana Ave., a lodger in a private home, working as a clerk for the government. In 1930, Clara was living in Chicago, Illinois, with her 25-year-old grandson Daniel, with Daniel's wife, and Daniel's two-year-old daughter.

At the time of Clara's death, she was residing with her grandson Daniel Childs LEETCH at 420 N. Hortters, Philadelphia. Clara died at Philadelphia General Hospital.

NOTE: Clara's remains were cremated at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, in Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery Co., Pennsylvania, at the direction of her grandson (Daniel Childs LEETCH). He also was the informant for her death certificate. The death certificate notes cremation at "W. L. Hill," with burial/removal at "Hillsdale, Mich" (cremation permit 146).
