Dessie May Wells, 73, of Oklahoma City, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. She was born Dessie May Barnes on December 10, 1942.

Dessie was a longtime member at Faith Tabernacle in Oklahoma City. She married her husband Richard Wells in 1963 in Oklahoma City. They were married 51 years until he passed away in 2014.

She worked as a production technician for Lucent Technologies and retired after more than 30 years. Dessie was an active member at 10 Gym.

She enjoyed shopping and traveling with Richard, especially going to the lake and crappie fishing on the dock! Dessie liked to watch football and Thunder basketball and enjoyed listening to Christian music, especially the Gaithers, and classic country. She always wanted to visit the Grand Ole Opry and to go on her favorite game show, “The Price Is Right.”

Dessie’s first love was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a faithful Christian.

Dessie is survived by her three children, son David Wells of Oklahoma City, son Joseph Wells of Noble, and son James Wells and wife Kim of Noble; five grandchildren, Nathan Wells and wife Amanda of Blanchard, Chad Wells of Tuttle, Jeffery Wells and wife Kaitlin of Norman, Brittani Wells of Norman and Derek Wells of Norman; great-grandchild, Braylee Wells; sister Mary Horton of Ratliff City; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving members of the family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard Wells; sister Maxine Dean, brother Bill Barnes, brother Tommy Barnes, sister, Tressie Shaw and brother Mike Barnes.

Funeral services for Dessie will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 2, 2016 at Faith Tabernacle, 800 S. Portland Avenue in Oklahoma City, OK. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.
