James Edward (Ed) Pickell, 74, of 108 Snyder Road, husband of Virginia Garrett Pickell, died April 4, 1992 at his home. Born in Greenwood County, March 14, 1918, he was a son of the late Rufus and Annie Faulkner Pickell. He was a USAF veteran of World War II, was employed by George Ballentine Motor Co., and was a member of South Main Street Baptist Church and the Adult No. 1 Sunday School Class. Surviving, in addition to his wife of the home, are two daughters, Mrs. Marion (Beverly) Thomas and Mrs. Betty Jo Ouzts, both of Greenwood; a sister, Mrs. Mack (Miriam) Anderson of Camden; a brother, J. Frank Pickell of Greenwood; and two grandchildren. Burial in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Blyth Funeral Home. The index-Journal (Greenwood SC), April 5, 1992.
