Dolores (sic) Cordelia (Lowery) Heinrichs, of Lakeview Commons, Loveland, CO, passed away Tuesday morning Nov. 29, at the Loveland Good Samaritan Village. 'Dee', as she was known by family and friends, was born at home on the family farm, the youngest daughter in this family of ten children, in Nuckolls County, on May 1, 'May Day', 1930, accompanied by her twin brother.

After graduating from high school, she met Marvin Heinrichs, and the couple eventually married September 3, 1950, at Davenport, in the American Lutheran Church.

Being the youngest daughter, born into a large farming family, Dee baby-sat for many of the community's newborns, in her teen years and was accustomed to the responsibilities of a farmer's wife, which had prepared her for the work that this young couple shared on their farm in Thayer County, near Carleton.

Moving to Loveland in 1958, Dee raised her two daughters and worked as a baker, in the canyon, selling cherry pies from Loveland's own abundant cherry orchards. She catered meals from the community building and later worked x-raying quartz crystals at F&M Scientific Corporation in Loveland's tech infancy.

The couple then moved to farm sugar beets and raise cattle near Bethune, CO, for four years, where Dee concentrated on raising her daughters, and making friends, as she sang in Burlington's Lutheran Church choir and participated in Janet and Judy's school activities.

Returning to Loveland, in 1968, the couple purchased 160 acres north of Loveland. Farmed as dry land wheat, the land eventually was developed for housing, and also became part of Larimer County's Open Space Program.

Returning to Loveland's tech industry, Dee worked for twelve years, as an assistant scheduler, for Hewlett-Packard.

With her love of cooking, after retirement, she enjoyed a part-time job as a food demonstrator, for Sam's Club.

Through her decades in Loveland, Dee was an active member of area Lutheran Churches, participated in local bowling leagues, and enjoyed her friends at bunco and pinochle parties. Painting ceramics, cross stitching quilts, and making porcelain dolls, Dee had a very creative touch. And teaching herself to play the organ, she delighted in hearing her girls sing along.

Spending her later years, close to her family in Loveland, was a happy time for Dee. Losing her husband to Alzheimer's, after 64 years of marriage, was a difficult adjustment. But the birth of her first great grandchild, her namesake Brielle Cordelia, shortly after Marvin's passing, was a wonderful comfort.

Dee, being a positive person, and social butterfly, made more friends and greatly enjoyed the activities, and people at Lakeview Commons Assisted Living Apartments.

Her "Wii" bowling score, of 300, remains unbeaten and many a card party and bingo game will not be the same there, without her.

Dee is survived by her two daughters Judy Grimes, and her husband Robert, and Janet Schreiner and her husband Marty; her three grandsons Blue Grimes and his wife Kim, Timothy Schreiner and Daniel Schreiner; great-grandchildren Fynton River and Brielle Cordelia; a brother William Lowery; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Ray J. and Fern Lowery, five brothers, and three sisters, in laws Martin and Wilma Vortman Heinrichs, husband Marvin Heinrichs and their infant daughter, Diane.

A celebration of Dee's life will be held on Dec. 10, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Viegut Funeral Home Loveland, CO.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions are made to House of Neighborly service, or a charity of their choice. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the wonderful staff at Lakeview Commons, Pathways Hospice, Good Samaritan Village, and many friends, for their loving care of Dee, and her family.
