OBITUARY: located by Anthony Kendrick at the Mary S. Biesecker Public Library, Somerset, Somerset Co, PA and provided to me by Mathew Prinkey; from the Somerset Daily Herald, 4 November 1885:
DIED.
King.- At her home near Ursina, Pa., on Friday, October 23, 1885, Mrs. Eve King, widow of Jacob King, dece'd, in the 89th year of her age.
The deceased was a member of the Turkeyfoot Regular Baptist Church for nearly sixty years, having been baptized and received into the fellowship of said church on the 26th day of November, 1823. She was a woman of strong faith and consistent life, and many of those who were pastors of the church during her membership, will be able to recall words of encouragement spoken by her at the time when they were most needed. Her remains were laid to rest in the Jersey cemetery on Sunday, October 25, at which time a memorial sermon was preached by the pastor, Rev. James R. Brown. Mrs. King was a daughter of John Prinkey (sic; Pringey), who also resided in Lower Turkeyfoot township, and was the father of a large family, among whom were the wives of Samuel King (sic; probably Samuel McMillen) and Shafet Dwire, late of Upper Turkeyfoot township, and Jacob N. Hartzell, Jonas Younkin, John Graham, Jonathan Mountain and Michael Bailey, all of whom have gone west. Jacob King, her late husband, was the son of John C. King, whose wife was Hiley Rush. His grandfather, Christopher King, was one of the old-time residents of Lower Turkeyfoot township, whose wife was an aunt of the late Judge John Hanna and Major Alexander Hanna, who were well known to the people of this county.
