Son of GEORGE BROOMFIELD and his wife HANNAH (nee CURTIS).

He enlisted in the Royal Navy in 1906. Awarded the DSM in December 1915 for services relating to mine-sweeping and mine-laying.

He died from complications of an infection, which caused Myelitis (infection & paralysis of the spinal cord).
