Obituary

Gail Houston Ericson, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo C. Ericson was born in Dayton, Iowa, February 8, 1885, and died in an automobile accident at Pomeroy, Iowa, November 7, 1932, at the age of 47 years, 8 months, 29 days. His early life was spent near Dayton, where he grew to young manhood. As a young man, he went to Thomas, Oklahoma, where he spent four years engaged in the restaurant business. There he met and was united in marriage to Miss Cora Dunham. To them were born two sons, Darwin of Pomeroy, Iowa, and George of San Francisco, California, who survive him. He is also survived by a grandson, George, Jr., of San Francisco; his mother, Mrs. Geo G. Ericson, with whom he was making his home; a sister, Mrs. B.L. Beebe of Lehigh; and two brothers, R.R. Ericson of Manson, and W.L. Ericson of Rockwell City; besides other relatives and lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters. On returning from Oklahoma, he operated a farm with his parents near Estherville a number of years. Seven years ago, he moved to Pomeroy, where he entered the life insurance business. He was a loving father and son, always considerate of others before himself, and valued the friendships of his lifetime. Early in life, he united with the Methodist Episcopal Church, of which he remained a member until his death. His famy friends join with the bereaved ones in their hour of deep sorrow. His funeral was held last Friday from the Pomeroy M.E. Church, his pastor, Rev. Chas. A. Richards, in charge. His remains were brought to Dayton, short services were given at the M.E. Church here, and burial was made in Dayton cemetery here.
