At 21, she married Henri Le Moal, the father of her first child, Claudine, but unfortunately, became a widow three years later. At 27, she met her second husband, Bobby Dalton, an Air Force airman, the father of her second child, Conny. She left her native France in 1962 to follow her husband to Fairchild AFB in Washington, then to Travis AFB in Fairfield, where she has resided the last 50 years.
Odette loved family and friends and looked forward to numerous celebratory gatherings, frequently returning to visit her family in France. While in Fairfield she caught up on her war-deprived education and went on to receive an AA in business at Solano Community College. Later she became a passionate doll maker and proceeded to populate her house with her many creations. In the meantime, while not traveling/cruising with her husband, she enjoyed watching her small ranch in rural Fairfield fill with many animals.
Odette will be profoundly missed by all her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby; her two daughters, Claudine of Novato and Conny of Fairfield; her respective son-in-laws, Phillip Abrams and Roger Oberbeck; and three grandchildren, Tara Abrams, Kyla Abrams and Brandon Oberbeck; as well as her sister and brother-in-law, Marlyne and Claude Becker of Strasbourg, France.
Friends and family are invited to participate in Odette’s departure services at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, California.
