Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, at the Collins United Methodist Church in Collins with Reverend Douglas Harding officiating. Burial will follow at Collins Evergreen Cemetery.
She was born March 20, 1984 in Des Moines to Guy and Mary Beth Elliott. Ashley was an active participant in the Collins Clipper’s 4-H club and FFA growing up, showing cattle and hogs. She graduated from Collins-Maxwell High School in 2002 and from DMACC as a medical assistant in 2004. She later received her RN degree from DMACC in 2008. While attending college, she worked for Dr. Timothy Vermillion in Pleasant Hill and Mercy North in Ankeny. She was currently employed at Story County Medical Center in Nevada, practicing in the field she loved. Ashley loved showing cattle, being with her fiance Nathan on his farm with all of his animals, and working on Pinterest craft projects.
She is survived by her fiance, Dr. Nathan Rand; parents Guy and Mary Beth; brother Brent (Jess) Elliott; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ober and Queen Elliott, John and Barb Kingman; and a cousin, Braden Long.
