PIONEER DIES
After a lingering illness, James E. Adam of Santa Maria died in this city yesterday at the cottage he had occupied on West Victoria street for the past six weeks, having come here for treatment.
He was the son of the late W. L. Adam, one of the well-known pioneers of the county.
He is survived by a wife and six children, and leaves nine brothers and sisters. They are William Adam, Charles A. Adam, Thomas Adam, Carl Adam of San Jose, Miss Mary Adam, Mrs. Isaac Porter, Mrs. Sheehy of Watsonville, Miss Katherine Adams and Mrs. Leo Prissier of Santa Maria.
The remains will be taken to Santa Maria and the funeral will be held Thursday afternoon.
