Gerald D. Jackson, 74, of Vandergrift, died Wednesday (April 30, 2003) in Life Care Center, Wilkinsburg.

Born Aug. 28, 1928, in North Apollo, he lived in Vandergrift most of his life. For a brief period, he lived in New Jersey.

Mr. Jackson worked at Kaufmann's Department Store in Monroeville, and operated an automobile detailing business in Vandergrift.

Surviving him is a brother, Richard (Dorothy) Jackson of New York City.

Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Mae Jackson of Vandergrift; three nephews, the Rev. John H. Jackson III, Jeff Jackson and Michael Jackson; and four great-nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Lorraine Jackson Jackson; and a brother, John H. Jackson Jr.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the DUNMIRE-KERR FUNERAL HOME, 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, where a service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday. His nephew, the Rev. John H. Jackson III, will officiate. Burial will be in Vandergrift Cemetery.
