William F. Mize, Sr., age 99, of Cadiz, KY, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016, at his home in Cadiz. Mr. Mize was a life-long farmer. He and his son, Bill, and wife, Mae, operated their family farms in Trigg County, KY. William had a passion for agriculture, conservation, and farm education. He and his son, Bill, and family would host the 4-H Farm Safety Day each year on the family farm in the Bethel community of Trigg County, to help educate children on farms and farm safety. Mr. Mize was a long-time member of Cadiz Baptist Church.

He is survived by: one son - William "Bill" Mize, Jr., Cadiz, KY; two grandchildren - Deborah Schael & husband, Stefan, Germany; and Sam Gallogly & wife, Charity, Cadiz; seven great grandchildren - Tim Schael, Laura Schael, Peyton Gallogly, Ryan Gallogly, Grant Gallogly, Makayla Cadena, and Braden Cadena; and two very special friends - Pippy & Elsie Tyler. He was preceded in death by: his parents - William David & Gertrude Thomas Mize; his wife of 77 years - Mary "Mae" Mize; one brother - Thomas Mize; his daughter-in-law - Cyndi Mize; and two grandchildren - Timothy Gallogly and Jennifer Trickett.

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, KY, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 22, 2016. The Funeral Service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 23, 2016, with the Reverend Kevin Roberts and Reverend Kyle Noffsinger officiating. Burial will follow at East End Cemetery in Cadiz.
