Sue Jardine Gibson
1958 - 2016

Early Life: Sue was born May 26, 1958, to Max Howard and Myrtice Ostler Jardine, the fourth of seven siblings. She grew up in Bountiful, graduating from Viewmont High School in 1976.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Sue met her eternal companion, Aaron Scott Gibson, on a blind date; they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on December 17, 1980. Sue dedicated her life to serving the Lord, other people and her family. She was an exceptional wife, mother and friend. She made lasting friendships, some of which were the result of her serving others. Many fun-filled vacations with much laughter were spent with family and friends throughout the years. Sue never wanted to be the center of attention, but her kindness, loyalty, steadfastness, faithfulness and unwavering testimony made her shine. She was dedicated to her children and grandchildren and loved to be involved in their lives. Her nine grandchildren added a whole new dimension to how much she could love and fuss over her posterity. She was blessed to be able to meet and hold her newest grandchild, Rosie, just days before her passing. Sue's battle against cancer started in November of 2011. Her fight included four surgeries/medical procedures, radiation treatment and 28 total months of chemo treatment. After the last round of chemo treatments took such a toll on her body, she decided to focus on making the most of her remaining precious time on Earth; so in November 2015, she stopped all treatments to focus on the things that mattered most in her life, spending time with family and friends. Sue Jardine Gibson passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016, after putting up a valiant fight battling colorectal cancer. She was 58.
Family Message: "Sue will be missed as we say our temporary goodbye in this mortality but she has ended her suffering. Yes, cancer is a punishing disease that is harsh on those who endure through the suffering. But it also grants us a gift to express care and love in so many other ways. Through our 'cancer experience' we were deeply touched by the kindness of others as they performed random acts of kindness and service. Saying thank you does not express the appreciation and gratitude we have for even the simplest act performed, demonstrating the love others were able to express."
Survived By: Her husband, Aaron; children: Mindy (Tyler) Woodworth, Stephanie (Brendon) Holmes, Brittany (Tony) Rawlins and Austin; nine grandchildren; and her sisters.
Preceded In Death By: Her parents and her brother, Drew.
Services: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Location: Windsor Stake Center
Burial: Orem City Cemetery
