Mrs. Ripke was born July 3, 1887, in Dover, Tenn., the daughter of Edgar and Nora Folks. She attended schools there. She married Francis Ripke on June 30, 1908 at Holt. The couple homesteaded at Bigfork and later lived at Somers and then in Kalispell. He was a deputy sheriff here many years. He died in 1960.
Mrs. Ripke was active in many civic endeavors. She served on the election board here. She was the queen of the first Bigfork Fourth of July Celebration in 1904. She was a member of the Rebecca lodge in Bigfork.
Surviving are five grandchildren, Mrs. James (Myrna) Hocking, of Kent, Wash., Mrs. Joe (Cheryl) Stevens of Moses Lake, Wash., Mrs. Delbert (Roberta) Green of Tacoma, Wash., and Mrs. Terry (Diane) Beaulieu of Libby. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two daughters and one son.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Weatherford Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Pierce, pastor of the Swan chapel officiating. Burial will follow at the Conrad Memorial Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Arthritis Foundation.
