Elsa M. Shaner, 73, Golden LivingCenter, Hillview, formerly of Altoona, died Sunday afternoon at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Malcolm J. and Olive Viola (Shelow) Reep. She was twice married: first to Paul Nolland. She then married Jack A. Shaner Dec. 31, 1966, in Duncansville.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Sharon Banks of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; three stepsons: Terry, David and James, all in Florida; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters: Rose Baker of Martinsburg, Mary Reep of Gallitzin and Trudy Claar of Hollidaysburg; and a brother, Robert of New Enterprise. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald; a sister, Della Cassarly; and a brother, William Reep.
Mrs. Shaner retired from the bulb and stem department of Sylvania after 20 years of service.
She was a 1951 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School.
Friends will be received from 4 to the 6 p.m. services Saturday at Daniel R. Myers Funeral Home, with the Rev. William Pepper officiating. Interment at Alto-Reste Park.
