LorAnna "Lori" (Dorn) Weiss, 68 Beatrice died Saturday September 2, 2006 at Parkview Center, Beatrice. She was born on October 20, 1937 in rural Gage County, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Pickrell. She married Ronald Weiss on June 9, 1957 at Zion Lutheran Church, Pickrell. They started their life together in Lincoln. They moved to Grand Island in April 1960, then Beatrice in 1964 where they joined St. John Lutheran Church. In the summer of 1968 they moved to Virginia, NE and joined the American Lutheran Church, Filley, NE. In 1986 they moved to Beatrice. She worked at the Beatrice State Developmental Center for 16 years retiring in 2002. She was active in numerous school, 4-H activities, Mrs. Jaycees and an active circle member of the American Lutheran Church, Filley. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing and taking care of her grandchildren.

She is survived by: husband, Ronald of Beatrice; daughters, Pam Feilmeier and husband Tom of Colorado Springs, CO and Sherry Hartwig and husband Scott of Cortland, NE; 5 grandchildren, Benjamin Feilmeier, Ryan Feilmeier, Jayden Hartwig, Brylie Hartwig, and RaeAnn Hartwig; 2 brothers, Arnold Dorn and wife Alma of Beatrice, and Norman Dorn of Lakewood, CO; 2 sisters, Berniece Siefkes of Lincoln, NE and Arlene Buss of Salt Lake City, Utah. Preceded in death by: 2 daughters, Debra Weiss and Peggy Weiss; parents, Tom and Mary (Hofeling) Dorn; 3 brothers, Bernard Dorn, Harvey Dorn, and Arthur Dorn and one sister Jeanette Dorn.





Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at the American Lutheran Church, Filley, NE. Pastor Melody Brindel officiating. Burial: Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice. Family Prayer Service: 1:00 p.m. in church basement. The body will lie in state from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday at Harman-Wright Mortuary, Beatrice, then at church one hour preceding services.
